Daniel’s Law: A Step Forward in Protecting Queensland’s Children
Queensland has introduced Daniel’s Law. A public child sex offender registry created in memory of Daniel Morcombe. This law is a vital step forward in giving families access to information that can help keep children safe. At ChildSafe Registry, we support this progress while also working to prevent harm long before offenders ever appear on a register. Our mission is to build a national platform that strengthens transparency, empowers parents, and stops tragedies before they happen.
The Sick Day That Changed Everything
I never imagined that one unexpected sick day would become the spark for building ChildSafe Registry. Forced to slow down, I started reading through story after story of families torn apart by failures in the childcare system - gaps in background checks, delays in communication, and an overall lack of transparency. As a parent, the thought of handing over my children to someone without the tools to truly know who they are filled me with dread. That was the moment I realised: waiting for tragedy to strike is not an option. We need a system that acts before harm is done, one that empowers parents and providers with the clarity and accountability they deserve.
